First QT conference a roaring success

On Thursday 5 and Friday 6 May 2022, more than 260 delegates descended on the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney for the inaugural Quality Teaching in Practice Conference.

Over the course of two days, teachers, principals, academics and policy makers were taken on a journey through the latest in Quality Teaching Rounds research and showcases from schools on implementation and evaluation of QTR in their specific contexts.

Revisit the conference program.

Highlights included keynote addresses from Laureate Professor Jenny Gore, Associate Professor Nicole Mockler and Professor Helen Watt, as well as two engaging panel discussions on the role of quality teaching in improving equity, and the extent to which professional development can make a real difference to teaching and learning.

However, many delegates reported that the school showcases of QTR in different learning settings were invaluable, and left many raring to return to school to kick start their own QT journeys.

Recordings of keynotes and other highlighted sessions will be made available in the QT Members Area over coming months.

Quality Teaching in Practice will return in May 2023 in Newcastle, with more details to be announced soon.
