Bridging the divide between
educational research and practice
The Quality Teaching Academy works in partnership with the Teachers and Teaching Research Centre (TTRC), which undertakes rigorous educational research in areas of:
- Pedagogical reform and teacher development
- School leadership and educational reform
- Aspirations and equity
- STEM education
The Quality Teaching Academy invests all proceeds directly into research. Our professional development isn’t just “evidence-informed” or “based on research” – it has been subjected to rigorous evaluation in large-scale studies in schools. This enables us to support teachers in lifting student achievement and address the evolving needs of Australian education.
The current program of research examining Quality Teaching Rounds, Building Capacity for Quality Teaching in Australian Schools, is unlike anything else in Australian educational research. It comprises a comprehensive suite of studies over five years, including four large-scale randomised controlled trials and multiple case studies across school contexts and jurisdictions.

Key research findings
