This two-day high-impact professional development workshop aims to equip initial teacher education students with a deeper understanding on the QT Model and Quality Teaching Rounds prior to their final year internship.
In 2021, we piloted this workshop with University of Newcastle education students prior to their internship. Through a series of survey results we saw some exciting results such as reducing student stress and increasing confidence in their professional capacities, including in classroom management, student engagement and instructional strategies.
“I liked the collaborative approach which allowed us to develop a deeper understanding of the QT Model. As such, I was able to examine how I, as an educator, can re-evaluate the ways in which I teach and how I can improve on both the methods of classroom teaching as well as assessment practices. I will absolutely be using these methods within my internship, and as such, I feel much more confident going into it. Thank you!”
“The model is empowering & practically implementable & I cannot but recommend that you must continue for pre-service teachers.”
“The workshop equipped me with practical and implementable ideas and strategies that can be used in a classroom and school-wide context. It gave me confidence in my own teaching practice, as well as my ability to connect with other colleagues as a professional.”
We are committed to providing QT professional development with your health and wellbeing at the forefront of our planning. Should circumstances change, face-to-face workshops will be changed to an online format. In this case, workshop resources will be sent by mail to all participants prior to the workshop. However, if you register within 7 working days of the workshop, we cannot guarantee delivery before the first day. Resources will also be sent electronically prior to the workshop.
